Independent verification for environmental innovation

ETV Canada independently verifies the performance claims of innovative environmental technologies, giving purchasers, regulators and developers a credible basis for decision-making.

About

Bridgeing the gap

What is ETV?

Environmental technologies are creating new ways to address some of the world’s most important challenges. But for a new solution to move from a promising idea to real-world adoption, buyers need reliable evidence that it performs as claimed.

For technology developers, that can be difficult. Innovative technologies often enter the market without a long operating history, while purchasers, regulators and other decision-makers need credible information before adopting something new.

Environmental Technology Verification, or ETV, helps bridge that gap.

Independent & Credible

How does it work?

01

Define the Claim

Establish a clear, measurable performance claim for the environmental technology.

02

Review the Evidence

Independently assess the claim against reliable test data and supporting information.

03

Build Market Confidence

Provide purchasers, regulators and other stakeholders with credible evidence to support adoption, procurement and application decisions.

Why verify?

Show what your technology can do

Verification states what was tested, the results and the conditions under which the technology operated. Customers can see what your claim covers.

Build credibility with buyers

Customers do not have to rely solely on information from your company. They can review an independent assessment of your performance claim.

Support procurement decisions

Purchasing a new technology often involves several people. A verification gives technical staff, managers and procurement teams a document they can assess and share.

Reach markets beyond Canada

ISO 14034 provides an internationally recognized process for verifying environmental technology performance claims. That gives organizations outside Canada a familiar framework for reviewing your results.
